A new Turkish Trade Center has been opened in the heart of one of the world’s largest financial centers – New York’s Manhattan. “New York is where everything begins, is designed, born and distributed all around the world,” Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci said at the opening ceremony.
Turkey’s exports increased by 11.9 percent on a yearly basis to climb $12.4 billion in August, Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) announced Friday. “Exports in the first eight months of the current year increased by 10.7 percent to $102.5 billion, and the exports in the last 12 month increased by 7.8 percent to $151.8 billion,” the association said.
Turkish exports saw a 8.2 percent upsurge in the first half of the year while foreign trade deficit registered a 9.1 percent shrinkage in June compared to last year’s data Turkey’s exports advanced by 8.2 percent to $77.5 billion while imports increased by 8.7 percent to $108.3 billion in the January-June period of this year.…
Turkey’s ready-to-wear industry has claimed around 10 percent of the German apparel market, the Association of Aegean Exporters (EİB) has claimed.
Property sales in Turkey rose by 6.4 percent on an annual basis during May, Turkish Statistical Institute reported Friday. According to the institute, 114,800 houses changed hands in Turkey during the month. Of those sales, 1,612 were sold to foreigners, with approximately 30 percent (or 511 units) of them in Istanbul, the country’s largest city by population.
